Dr Rebecca Apteker is a licensed Clinical Psychologist in South Africa (HPCSA (PS0113204); BHF (0860010488542). She is experienced in working with a wide spectrum of difficulties from serious pathology to everyday life challenges. She has applied a wide variety of modalities to her work (including DBT, CBT, MBSR) and has received training through the Tavistock Clinic in London, and UMMS (USA).  She has five degrees including a Ph.D; MA.Clin.Psych; BA (Hons) English; BA(Wits) and a BA (Hons) Psychology (UNISA). She attended the M.St in Women's Studies at St Cross College, Oxford. She worked at Tara Psychiatric Hospital (Jhb) and has experience in the inpatient treatment of Personality Disorders, Chemical wards, and Children's Clinic. She has worked extensively with addiction of all kinds, with adolescents generally, couples therapy, individual therapy, life counselling, gender and identity issues, bereavement and mood disorders among other areas. Dr Apteker is also a published author.
